About
EV Gate is a deterministic EV viability assessment designed to help users evaluate whether an electric vehicle realistically fits their routine, charging setup, and ownership expectations.
The project is intentionally conservative. It exists to reduce poor-fit ownership decisions rather than maximise EV conversions or encourage vehicle purchases.
What EV Gate Evaluates
The assessment focuses on practical ownership considerations such as:
- Charging practicality
- Driving patterns
- Routine predictability
- Public charging dependency
- Transport flexibility
- Ownership expectations
What EV Gate Does Not Provide
EV Gate does not provide:
- Financial advice
- Vehicle recommendations
- Sales guidance
- Investment advice
- Guarantees of ownership experience
Assessment Philosophy
Many vehicle decisions are made using headline specifications, marketing claims, or theoretical capability alone.
EV Gate instead prioritises operational realism — focusing on ownership friction, charging practicality, and behavioural compatibility.
A vehicle may technically support a user's requirements while still creating significant day-to-day inconvenience depending on charging access, transport pressure, or routine unpredictability.
Why The Assessment Is Restrained
The engine intentionally avoids urgency-driven wording, persuasive framing, or conversion-focused language.
The goal is to improve clarity and reduce avoidable ownership mismatch rather than optimise sales outcomes.
